Your brand on the jar, our material inside it, and one supplier answering for both.
Plenty of brands want to sell shea butter without building a supply chain to get it. Buying finished goods from a trader is easy but you inherit whatever they sourced. Building your own chain takes years.
Private label sits in between. We source, process and pack to your specification, under your label, and you keep the origin story because it is a real one we can document.
You get one supplier
Sourcing, processing, packing and shipping answered for by one company, on one invoice.
You keep the origin story
We can tell you which communities supplied a batch, so your claims survive a customer checking them.
Buying finished goods
Fast to start, but you inherit a supply chain you cannot see and cannot describe to your own customers.
Building your own chain
Full control eventually, after several seasons of relationships, staff and mistakes you pay for yourself.
A brand that wants to put shea butter on a shelf has three realistic options. Buy finished goods from a trader and relabel them. Build a supply chain of your own. Or have someone who already has one make the product to your specification.
Buying finished goods is quickest and it is what most new brands do. The catch is that you inherit whatever your supplier sourced, and you cannot describe it to your customers because you do not know. When a retailer asks for a sustainability statement, or a customer asks which cooperative made it, you are repeating what you were told rather than something you can check.
Building your own chain solves that, eventually. It also means several seasons of relationships, staff on the ground, a warehouse, mistakes that are entirely yours, and a fixed cost that has to be paid whether your product sells or not. It is the right answer at volume and the wrong one for a brand doing a few tonnes a year.
Private label sits in between and is honest about the trade. We do the sourcing, processing and packing under your label, so you get one supplier and one invoice, and you keep an origin story that is real because we can produce the records behind it. What you give up is control of the chain itself. What you gain is the ability to say something specific about where your product came from, and to be right.
Tell us what you are trying to move and we will tell you plainly what we can do about it.
